Direct-reduced iron (DRI) , also called sponge iron,is produced from direct reduction of iron ore (in the form of lumps, pellets or fines) by a reducing gas produced from natural gas or coal. The reducing gas is a mixture majority of hydrogen (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO), which acts as reducing agent. This process of directly reducing the iron ore in solid form by reducing gases is called direct reduction.

QALMEN LIMITED has full practical expertise in safe handling and transportation of both DRI (B) in Pellet form and DRI (C) in fine form from various factories in the Middle East and Venezuela.

We can offer 30,000MT DRI in pellet form to Far-East in break bulk vessels. We can also advise our clients regarding safety factors in handling DRI.

Chrome ore is raw material to produce Ferrochrome. The ferrochrome is produced by electric arc melting of chromite, an iron magnesium chromium oxide and the most important chromium ore.

80% of world Ferrochrome is utilized in production of stainless steel.

QALMEN can provide Chrome ore direct from the mine to main Chinese ports in various qualities and quantities.

QALMEN off take Mine is 50km in length and 400km2 in area. We have 5 exploration and excavation licenses and each of these licenses have 40-50 spots of high-grade Chrome ore up to 100m in depth.
